All members of our team have obtained practical experiences in vocational evaluation services and/or acquired experience in supervising and consulting vocational evaluation services. Additionally, VERCN has established proper communication channels with local governments in the Northern District since 2006, and have discovered the strengths and weaknesses in developing vocational evaluation and vocational rehabilitation services. Hence, based on the knowledge of the practical situation, VERCN will provide accessible suggestions and strategies in assisting local governments of the Northern District.
Many of our team members have worked closely with the health care industry, and have developed close connections with medical resources in the Northern District. Therefore, with the agreement from clients or their significant others, the information delivery process to obtain the required medical information is shortened. In addition, during 2006 to 2008, VERCN has established connection channels with hospitals, and eased the referral process between hospitals and vocational rehabilitation services (e.g., situational assessment for people with chronic mental illness, referral for labors with work injuries). It simplifies the process of vocational evaluation and vocational rehabilitation services for people with disabilities.
Many of our team members have been participating in work capacity evaluation and work hardening services for labors with work injuries, and have obtained considerable knowledge of labors with work injuries. This experience has helped us develop a clear understanding of case management, medical rehabilitation, occupational rehabilitation, and vocational rehabilitation for injured workers, as well as establish the connection of case management system between the medical industry and labor system that is necessary to promote the entire rehabilitation services. Our team will hold the Rehabilitation Services for Labors with Work Injuries conference in 2009 to increase the knowledge of work injuries for vocational evaluators, vocational rehabilitation professionals, and government officer in the Northern District.
Many of our team members worked as employment specialists. The experience helped them understand the information needed when providing employment services to people with disabilities, and the assistance that is provided by vocational evaluation. With this knowledge, we are capable of facilitating the connection between vocational evaluation and other vocational rehabilitation professions.
Many of our team members were employed in the government, and have obtained knowledge of employment related laws for people with disabilities. They have also developed practical experience in assessing, planning, and conducting vocational evaluation services from the aspect of local government. Therefore, while assisting local governments in planning and executing related services, our team would be able to provide accessible and integrating suggestions.
All the members of our team are passionate in using vocational evaluation and vocational rehabilitation to serve people with disabilities.
